The Powerpuff Girls Nails
As a child I loved the cartoon The Powerpuff Girls and I've wanted to try painting them on my nails for such a long time so this week I finally took up that challenge!
These took such a long time! Firstly I wanted to practise drawing them on paper so it would easier to paint them on a smaller scale, and then actually painting them on my nails took so long! However I didn't get annoyed with them like I do some designs, I found it quite therapeutic getting all the details right so they looked more like the original cartoon! Also I think it helped that each nail was a different design.
On my thumb is the ingredients that the Powerpuff Girls were created with, minus chemical x which was added by accident giving them the superpowers! If you're not familiar with The Powerpuff Girls you can read about them here :)
Bubbles is the blue one, Blossom the pink and Buttercup the green. I'm least happy with Blossom and I wish I'd spent more time fixing her!
I'm quite happy with these nails as at least they are recognisable as the characters which was my objective! I painted them by doing a faint outline in black acrylic paint and then adding in the other features gradually. If you add white to the other colours it's easy to go over the initial black outline if it needs changing!
Doing these nails really reminded me how much I loved this show when I was younger, how could you not love a programme with an evil monkey called
Mojo Jojo haha!
I hope I've done the characters justice with this deigns as I liked the show so much.
Let me know what you think!
Thanks for reading! :D
This is the best cartoon nail art I have ever seen !
